My son's birthday party is on a Saturday. If I make the layer cake the night before, then frost it on Saturday, will that be okay? Or will the cake dry out?Can I make a layer cake the night before, then frost the next morning?
Thats is the best idea because it has to be cooledCan I make a layer cake the night before, then frost the next morning?
if the cake is moist to start with just do a light layer of frosting then put it in the fridge for the night. then you can re-frost it the next day and it will give you a crumb free frosting and its great for making smooth frosting for decorations.
Yes, perfectly fine, and it will definitely be moist the next day. Just don't wrap it in cellophane like I did! The next day it was so moist I couldn't frost the cake without the cake ripping at the top.
Absolutely, a perfectly cool cake is the best to frost IMO.
Cool the cake. Then cover it. If you can put it in an air tight container. It should be okay.
Certainly! let it cool completely at room temp, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap to keep airtight until tomorrow.
